GP Mental Health Care PLAN
We kindly advise that, while it is not mandatory to use any particular form when preparing and claiming for a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, it may be helpful to document the GP Mental Health Treatment Plan in a way which addresses the Medicare requirements. Furthermore, MBS items 2700, 2701, 2715 or 2717 (or former MBS items 2702 or 2710) must be claimed through Medicare in order to trigger Medicare subsidies for associated psychological services. Attached is an example of a mental health care plan, which is different from a referral letter. Please note Dementia, delirium, tobacco use disorder and mental retardation are not regarded as mental disorders for the purposes of the GP Mental Health Treatment items. This information has only been provided as a guide and we recommend communicating with Medicare directly for up-to-date information. This item is password protected as it is only intended to be used by clients, allied health professionals and referrers of Wellness Psychology Clinic Australia.
