What is Medicare?

Medicare is a government-run health-care programme that is available to all Australian citizens. It provides free or provides a rebate for the cost of healthcare and hospital services to all Australians and certain international visitors.

You must enroll in Medicare before you may use it. You will be given a Medicare number and card if you are qualified. This card may be used to get a variety of medical treatments. However, Medicare does not cover all services. If you require further information please visit the Medicare website.
